Before writing good essay we should understand that what is the essay? And how many kinds of essays are there when we get to know all this, we will be able to write a good essay.

What is essay?
The meaning of the term essay is that of a prose - work which, in short, reviews a subject - matter in order to come to a conclusion. It may be formal or informal, but less than a volume. It aims at education, imparting knowledge, entertaining and presenting an attitude.
Distinction of the essay:
1.Narrative :- the narratives are arranged in order to describe the events past. They also have essays on historical events, biography and travelling.
2. Descriptive :- descriptive essays describe animals, birds, natural scenes, institutions etc.
3. Critical :- interpretation of the loss or profit caused by a subject in critical essays, of any problem. Descriptions and Suggestions for elimination are described, etc. Such as family planning, unemployment, happy living, dowry system, problems of beggars in India, disassociation in schools and colleges, etc.

How to write a good essay?
Practical suggestion:-
1. Before writing your essay, read all the subjects carefully and think about what best essay you can write.
2. After selecting the topic of essay, the essay was given a shape. Note that you can't write a good essay without drawing Outlines.
3. The simplest way to create an outline is to think about the essay. Write down your thoughts on the pages of your copy. Then write those ideas in order and in logic.
4. Write something about the subject first so that you can see what it says.
5. Divide the essay into parts and make a paragraph for each part. Neither a paragraph should be too large nor too small. A paragraph of 250 words must contain at least 4 and more than 8 paragraphs. 6. Give a logical explanation of one thing in a paragraph, but not repeat any one thing or one sentence.
7. While writing your essay, if you add any important sentence which is given by a great person regarding the particular topic of the essay then you can get more points; Expansionary - if you are writing an essay on a journey, the following lines to indicate the importance of the journey can be added to it:

8. One paragraph should be related to another. The different paragraphs should have a rational statement of the points given in them.
9. Finally, let's close the essay in a short paragraph.

अच्छा निबंध लिखने से पहले हमें यह समझना चाहिए कि निबंध क्या है ? व निबंध के कितने प्रकार होते हैं जब हम यह सब जान जाएंगे तो हम एक अच्छा निबंध लिख पाएंगे ।
अाइए जानते है निबंध क्या है? व इसके कितने प्रकार है और हम एक अच्छा निबंध कैसे लिखे?
निबंध क्या है?
निबंध शब्द से अभिप्राय उस गद्य - रचना से है , जिसमें संक्षेप में किसी विषय - वस्तु को किसी नतीजे पर पहुंचने के लिए समीक्षा की जाती हैं। यह औपचारिक अथवा अनौपचारिक हो सकता है , परन्तु यह एक ग्रन्थ से कम बड़ा होता है। इसका ध्येय शिक्षा देना , ज्ञान प्रदान करना , मनोरंजन करना तथा एक दृष्टिकोण प्रस्तुत करना है।
निबंध के भेद :-
1. विवरणात्मक :- विवरणात्मक निबंधों से बीती हुई घटनाओं का वर्णन क्रम से होता है । इनमे ऐतिहासिक घटनाओं , जीवनियों तथा यात्राओं आदि से सम्बन्धित निबन्ध होते हैं।
2. वर्णनात्मक :- वर्णनात्मक निबंधों में पशु - पक्षियों , प्राकृतिक दृश्यों , संस्थाओं आदि का स्पष्ट वर्णन होता है।
3. विवेचनात्मक :- विवेचनात्मक निबंधों में किसी विषय के कारण , हानि या लाभ की व्याख्या , किसी समस्या का। वर्णन तथा निराकरण के लिए सुझाव आदि का वर्णन होता है ; जैसे - परिवार नियोजन , बेकारी , सुखी जीवन , दहेज प्रथा , भारत में भिखारियों की समस्या , स्कूल तथा कॉलेज में असंतोष और उसे दूर करने के लिए सुझाव आदि का वर्णन होता है।
आइए अब हम जानते है कि एक अच्छा निबंध कैसे लिखा जाता है।
अच्छा निबंध कैसे लिखे?
व्यवहारिक सुझाव :-
1. निबंध लिखने से पहले सभी विषयों को ध्यानपूर्वक पढ़े और यह विचार करें कि सर्वोत्तम निबंध आप किस विषय पर लिख सकते है।
2. निबंध के विषय का चयन करने के पश्चात् उस निबन्ध की रूप रेखा बनाए। ध्यान रहे कि आउटलाइन बनाए बिना आप अच्छा निबन्ध नहीं लिख सकते।
3. आउटलाइन बनाने का सरलतम नियम यह है कि निबन्ध के विषय में विचार करें। जो विचार आपके दिमाग में आए, उन्हें आप कोपी की पन्ने पर लिख ले। तत्पश्चात उन विचारों को क्रम और तर्क के अनुसार लिखे।
4. सबसे पहले विषय के सम्बन्ध में कुछ लिखे जिससे यह पता चले की उसमे क्या लिखा है।
5. निबंध को विभिन्न भागों में बांटकर प्रत्येक भाग का एक अनुच्छेद बनाए। न तो कोई अनुच्छेद बहुत बड़ा होना चाहिए और न ही बहुत छोटा। 250 शब्दों के अनुच्छेद में कम से कम 4 और अधिक से अधिक 8 अनुच्छेद होने चाहिए
6. एक अनुच्छेद में एक बात का तर्कसंगत विवरण दें किंतु किसी एक बात या एक वाक्य को दोहराएं नही।
7. निबंध लिखते समय यदि आप किसी महापुरुष द्वारा निबन्ध के विषय विशेष के संदर्भ में कहा गया कोई महत्वपूर्ण वाक्य भी जोड़ देते हैं तो उसमे आप अधिक अंक प्राप्त कर सकते है; उदहारर्णाथ - यदि आप किसी यात्रा के विषय में निबन्ध लिख रहे है तो उसमे यात्रा के महत्व को दर्शाने वाली निम्नलिखित पंक्तियों को जोड़ा जा सकता है-
अंग्रेजी निबंध के पिता के सर फ्रांसीसी बेकन के अनुसार :
"अनुभव के एक भाग में , छोटी तरह की यात्रा करना शिक्षा का एक हिस्सा है, बजाय बड़े भाग की यात्रा करने से ।"
8.एक अनुच्छेद दूसरे अनुच्छेद से परस्पर सम्बद्ध होना चाहिए। विभिन्न अनुच्छेदों में दिए हुए बिंदुओं के अनुसार की तर्कसंगत विवरण होना चाहिए।
9.अंत में एक छोटे अनुच्छेद में निबन्ध को समाप्त करें।
10.निबंध की भाषा सरल , शुद्ध और मुहवरेदार होनी चाहिए। कठिन और अस्पष्ट शब्दों का प्रयोग कदापि न करे।
